About Me

Hi, I’m Robert.

I am a 43-year-old IT expert from Wimbledon, London, and not too long ago, my life took an unexpected turn. My marriage ended in divorce, and for the first time in years, I found myself reflecting deeply on what I truly wanted.

It wasn’t just about moving on; it was about building a future that felt authentic and meaningful.

That’s when I decided to leave behind the hustle and bustle of London and embrace a completely new chapter in the tranquil beauty of southern Spain’s La Alpujarra region. The breathtaking landscapes and serene lifestyle offered me a promise of peace and the chance to start over.

Back in Wimbledon, my life was consumed by my career. I worked long hours in the demanding field of IT, and while I achieved professional success, it came at the expense of simplicity and balance. My divorce became a turning point, giving me the courage to redefine what happiness meant to me.

As an avid hiker, I’d always found solace in nature, and La Alpujarra, with its dramatic mountain trails and lush valleys, seemed like the perfect place to heal and begin again.

Now, I live in the charming village of Pampaneira. Life here is slower, richer, and far more connected than anything I’ve ever known. I’m in the midst of renovating an old townhouse, a project that has been both challenging and rewarding. I’m learning Spanish—a humbling but entertaining journey—and becoming part of the close-knit community here. My days are filled with exploring hidden trails, uncovering the local culture, and forming meaningful relationships with both locals and fellow expatriates. What started as an escape from my past has turned into an adventure of self-discovery and reinvention.
